385/65R22.5-tyre available in 10 tons version
In the Netherlands, a combination can have a maximum weight of 50 tons, as opposed to many other countries, where the appropriate standard is 40 tons. For the transportation of 50 tons, a solution was often chosen in which steering trailers were fitted with 3x10 tons axes and 10 tons tyres. Until recently, these axes could only be combined with “large” 425/65R 22.5-tyres (Ø 1130) and only possible for axle distances as of 1.81.
Downsides of the 425/65R22.5 were price and weight, but more important is the increase in Floor height construction, thus loosing volume when using these tyres.
The 385/65R22.5 is the ultimate trai-ler tyre: good price/quality ration, strong, light and with a 1070 mm diameter, perfect for the ETS controlled trailers (with a kingping height of 1150 mm).
In addition, this tyre is suitable for the 2-axle trailer.
